Features and Mode of Action

The mode of action of Aluminium Phosphide 56% Tablets is based on the release of phosphine gas from Aluminium phosphide when exposed to moisture. Phosphine disrupts cellular respiration in pests by inhibiting the synthesis of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the energy currency of cells. This leads to the interruption of vital metabolic processes, resulting in the rapid mortality of pests. It provides a convenient and effective method for fumigating stored grains, protecting them from infestations during storage and transportation.

Method of Application:

1. Stack Fumigation

• Calculate the tablets as per quantity of the storage.
• Put the tablets into the cloth pouches or in try (to easily dispose of the tablets residues).
• Place the tablets above and in between the stacks and mark the places where tablets placed.
• Cover the stacks with tarpaulin sheet.
• Seal the edges (Gas tight) of the tarpaulin sheet by using sand sacks placed at the edges and ends of the commodity stacks that air cannot pass from the stacks.
• Close all windows and doors.
• Onto the main gate of storage house paste a chart with the note on it (fumigation with Aluminium Phosphide is under process).

2. Flat Storage Fumigation

• Calculate the tablets as per grain quantity.
• Keep windows, doors and ventilators open during the operation
• Insert the probe at 3-4ft into the grain and insert the tablets.
• For gas tightness use tarpaulin sheet to cover all the food grain.
• Close windows, doors and ventilators closed.
• Onto the main gate of storage house paste a chart with the note on it (fumigation with Aluminium Phosphide is under process).

3. Grain Silos Fumigation

• Calculate the tablets as per grain quantity.
• Keep windows, doors and ventilators open during the operation.
• Place tablets into the cloth pouches.
• Then place tablet pouches onto the grain conveyer belt flows into the silos sheet.
• Close windows, doors and ventilators.

4. Burrow Fumigation

• Allocate the holes in the field.
• Place paper into the holes and flag the position.
• Day after tomorrow allocate the active holes (holes from where piece of paper removed by the burrow animals (Rodents, Snakes, Rabbits).
• Insert the tablet by using applicator.
• Close the hole with wet mud.

Precautions During Fumigation:

• Use gas mask.
• Use gas detector meter.
• wear gloves.
• First aid box.
• Never fumigate alone.
• Before enter into the fumigation room allows wind to pass minimum for 4 hours.
• Never fumigate near to residential areas.
• Residues of ALUMINIUM PHOSPHIDE should be mix with detergent in water and buried at approved site.
